APPLESEED RIFLE CLINIC
This clinic is oriented toward experienced shooters as well as beginners.
(You may be surprised to discover there is much to be learned, even for experienced shooters.)— Henry County Gun Club — Puryear, TN
Appleseed offers the best precision rifle marksmanship instruction available anywhere. And the cost is only a fraction of that for any other weekend of any kind of firearms training. In addition, you will learn of the events of the first day of the Revolutionary War and the sacrifices made by those patriots who bequeathed the precious heritage of liberty to us. This history is invaluable for children, as well as for adults. It may even change your life.
Any kind of rifle and any kind of sights will suffice. However, a semi-auto with a removable magazine will be more user friendly for our purposes. Most shooters at these events use 22s because of the high price of center fire ammunition. Approximately 500 rounds will be fired. A good sling is recommended.
The event is FREE of charge for active military, reserves, national guardsmen, and peace officers. $10 for Women (a substantial discount of the $70 pre-reg fee). $5.00 for anyone under 21 years old. The fee for everyone else is $45 for one day, or $70 for two days if you pre-register. If you walk on, the fee is $5 per day more. There will be a $5 per day range fee for everyone. It is a family friendly event, so bring the whole family and only the dad will have to pay. Attendance by women at these has been rapidly increasing and is strongly encouraged. In fact, some of our better instructors are women. Lunches will NOT be provided. It is suggested that you bring a lunch, a good supply of water, eye and ear protection, elbow pads, a mat to lie on, hat and sunscreen, and some friends. You will meet the nicest people and gain some new friends. The instructors will usually have a few rifles, which they are willing to loan to shooters, as well as ammunition.
Pre-registration and additional information is available at www.appleseedinfo.org or www.henrycountygunclub.com. Pre-registration is highly encouraged. It is recommended that you bring your computer pre-registration confirmation sheet to the range. Meetings begin at 8:30 a.m. Registration and check-in should be completed before then.
This event is sponsored by the Revolutionary War Veterans Association which is a 501(c)(3) organization. Our instructors are highly experienced volunteers who receive no payment for their services.

The skill level set by Fred for Rifleman is a score of 210 points out of 250 on the Army Marksmanship Qualification Target. This qualifies you as Expert on the AQT.
The program is not a shooting game and there is only one competitor, YOU and the challenge to increase and maintain your skill level to the RIFLEMAN standard of 210 or better on the AQT.
